Hi, I’m Clare — English teacher, long-time language lover, and founder of English in Nice.
Nice became my home in 2014 and fell in love with the city, its languages, and its way of life.
However, I also know first-hand how frustrating it feels when you can’t quite express yourself, can’t quite follow conversations, and don’t yet feel at home.
English in Nice / Nice en Français was created to change that — gently, socially, and joyfully — through real connection and shared experience.
What is English in Nice / Nice en Français?
English in Nice / Nice en Français is a bilingual community for adults living in or around Nice who want to practise English and French, connect with others, and experience the city more deeply.
It’s an English–French language exchange in Nice with a difference. We learn through real life and exploring the city together with walk and talks, café meet-ups, local discoveries, creative projects, and immersive experiences that bring language and community together.
Whether you’re newly arrived or have lived here for years, this is a place to grow your confidence, your friendships, and your sense of belonging.
The Two Pathways
Walk & Talk — free & open to all
Friendly monthly walks around Nice.
A relaxed way to meet people, enjoy good conversation, and discover the city together.
Some people come for the social side, some to exchange English or French, many for both.
There’s no pressure and no programme — just shared time, fresh air and connection.
The Membership — for those who want to grow their language
For people who are ready to go deeper with their English or French, and who want language to become part of their everyday life in Nice.
This is where practice becomes progress.
Membership brings structure, support and momentum — through regular French-English language exchange in Nice meet-ups, including immersive activities and a community that’s learning together.
Includes:
